Supported smart trainers: the full list
This is every smart trainer, smart bike and power source Tour du Pain knows about, with its status, the protocol the game uses and what works on it. The tables come straight from the list inside the game, so this page and the game's own "Supported trainers" view always say the same thing.
Updated · Written for version 1.36.3

Tour du Pain is free for everyone through 2027, everything included. Donations are optional.
How to read this list
Only one trainer has been ridden with Tour du Pain on real hardware so far: a Wahoo KICKR CORE, over FTMS. Every model marked "Should work" speaks a protocol the game implements and has been tested against an emulator, not on that exact trainer. That's an honest "probably fine", not a promise. If you ride one, tell us how it went.
- Tested: ridden on the real trainer. Everything works.
- Should work, not tested on hardware: the protocol is in the game and passes the emulator tests. Power, cadence, ERG, the 33 levels and simulation should all work.
- Power only: the trainer sends power and cadence but takes no commands. No ERG and no levels; you shift yourself, like on a power meter alone.
- Not supported: it can't work from a browser. The row says why, usually ANT+ only or a brand's own protocol.

What you need
A browser that can reach Bluetooth: Chrome or Edge on a computer, Chromebook or Android, or Opera on Android. Safari, Firefox, iPhone and iPad can't, except through a Bluetooth browser such as Bluefy. Your trainer needs Bluetooth; ANT+ alone isn't enough, because browsers have no ANT+ radio. The guides for Chromebook, Android tablets and Windows and Mac laptops go through each device.
To connect, open the game, go to Settings, Devices and press Connect next to Smart trainer. Pick your trainer in the browser's list. The smart trainer guide has every step and what to do when it doesn't show up.

Zwift hardware and virtual shifting
Several trainers below ship with the Zwift Cog and Zwift's virtual shifting. That shifting belongs to Zwift; Tour du Pain doesn't use it. On a trainer that can hold a set power, the game sets the effort with ERG or one of 33 levels, so with one cog on the back you change the level instead of the gear. The game's own virtual gears only step in on trainers that can't hold a set power. Controllers such as the Zwift Click and the Zwift Ride's handlebar buttons work as + and − buttons. The Zwift Hub and Zwift Ride guide has the details.
Every trainer, by brand
74 entries: 1 tested on the real trainer, 54 that should work, 7 power only and 12 that can't work from a browser.

The protocols in this list
- FTMS: Bluetooth Fitness Machine Service, the open standard most trainers since about 2020 speak.
- Tacx FE-C: Tacx's FE-C over Bluetooth: ANT+ FE-C pages sent over a Bluetooth service, on Tacx trainers from before FTMS.
- Wahoo legacy: Wahoo's own control on the Cycling Power service, on KICKRs and SNAPs from before FTMS firmware.
- Cycling Power: Bluetooth Cycling Power Service: power and cadence, no control.
- ANT+ only: Only ANT+ for control. Browsers have no ANT+ radio.
- Proprietary: A brand's own Bluetooth protocol that Tour du Pain doesn't speak.
- None: No Bluetooth trainer protocol.

Questions
Does my smart trainer work with Tour du Pain?
If it has Bluetooth and speaks FTMS, almost certainly. Most trainers sold since about 2020 do. Find your model in the tables above: "Should work" means the protocol is in the game; "Tested" means it has been ridden on that model.
Why is only one trainer marked as tested?
Because only one has been ridden on real hardware so far: the developer's own Wahoo KICKR CORE. The others pass the same tests on an emulator. We'd rather say that plainly than mark everything as tested.
My trainer isn't in the list. Will it work?
If it speaks FTMS over Bluetooth, it should work like any other; the list has a row for that. In the browser's chooser, turn on "Show all devices" if your trainer doesn't appear by name.
Can I use an ANT+ trainer?
Not for control. Browsers have no ANT+ radio, so a trainer that only takes commands over ANT+ can't be driven from a browser. If it also sends power over Bluetooth, you can ride it as power only.
Does the list change?
Yes, as models are added and riders report back. This page is built from the same list as the game, so it changes with each release. The update log says when.
